Healing Herbal Teas for Acid Reflux

Slippery Elm Tea

Slippery elm bark has a sweet, neutral flavor. It can be consumed by itself, or you can add extra herbs for added flavor and depth to soothe sore inflammed throat and stomach.

Makes 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. organic slippery elm bark powder

  • 1 cup of boiling water

  • Raw or manuka honey or other sweetener, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil water.

  2. Place 1 tablespoon of slippery elm powder in a cup and add 1/2 cup of hot water to mug, stir/whisk immendiately until dissolved. Slippery elm is mucilagious and thickens when added to water.

  3. Add another 1/2 cup of water to the mug.

  4. Add any extra ingredients (honey, cinnamon, etc..)

  5. Allow to sit for 3-5 minutes (it will thicken slightly). Enjoy!
